Given Up?

Hopefully not everyone has given up on the blog. Just not a lot to take pictures of lately. We are moved in but have a long way to go to get the shop cleared and all those boxes dealt with in storage. We still have some furniture to acquire, window treatments, screens for the doors and porch and on and on. 5 Star came back today to work on dressing out the area around the house. The old pavement is being squared off, dirt moved around and more rock put on the driveway. Making things look better on the outside is a good thing. Still some punch list items they are completing so the finish up is moving along. I'll post more as more landscaping etc gets done. Thanks to everyone who has followed our project.

First Post

Accessories keep showing up, like these lamps for our bedroom. Lots of time looking for just the right things. Fortunately, Diana is taking care of most of this. We got all our computer gear moved into the study from the shop. Plugged things in, fired them up and it all worked. That makes this the first ever post to the blog from our new house. It's all on and under a temporary desk, but still it's all working. One more thing checked off the list.

Living

The sectional in the man cave has been reconfigured to make it more TV viewing friendly. Directv was here yesterday, last night actually, so the television sets both are now working. I also connected the surround sound systems up so they now are also working........trust me.

Dining room set and bedroom set were delivered and set up. This means we are now officially living in our new home. We are far from moved in but we are living there. We still need a lot of things, like a dinette set, but we will work on that as we go. Accessories also continue to be purchased but a long way to go with those also. Tavish is confused and not yet used to new living arrangements. He sometimes comes up missing and we usually find him patiently waiting at the shop door. Our journey continues.........

Just Like Johnny

Furniture is showing up at a painfully slow pace. This sectional is in the man cave. We reconfigured it already to better facilitate TV viewing. Dining room should be here on Monday as well as our bedroom set. So like Johnny Cash, we are getting furniture.... one piece at a time. Gary came today and helped me install a data switch for our network. All connections tested 'ok' so we are good to go with that. Low voltage guy was also here finishing up a few things. I think we are totally done with their part. We will be in our house full time the beginning of the week. Our first event, a bridal shower, is happening tomorrow. Not many places to sit but folding chairs are on the way so things should be good.
