Europe?

Painters continue doing prep work. It's a very large task with taping caulking and the like. The floor is all covered up again.

Viktor is getting the flagstone down on the front porch and ramp. He just has a few pieces to get cut on the front edge of the ramp and he will be ready for grout. He tells us he needs to get all finished up this week because he is going to Europe to visit relatives next week. He didn't invite us to go along.
I want to thank Five Star for the flowers. Diana's sister Debra lost a long battle with cancer last night and they were kind enough to send them to us. They were appreciated and thanks again.

Colors

Flooring guys got the master bedroom covered. They just have the closets to finish and they will be done.

Viktor got grout on the trim around the door in the master bath, also on the accent tiles on the tub skirt. It appears he cut the flagstone getting it ready for the front porch and ramp. Painters have arrived and are doing prep work in the basement. Soon we will have colors.

Friday Plus One

Friday F&C was here. They put toe kicks on cabinets in the basement. They also put mirror frames up in the basement bathroom and master bath.

Finish carpenters keep getting closer. Areas where the flooring is complete are getting trimmed out. They also have most of the rails up on the stairways. Their check list is getting shorter. Flooring guys are done in the great room area and have moved to the master bedroom. Just that room and the closets for them to get finished.

The grout on the kitchen back splash lightened up as it cured. Diana is very happy it didn't stay as dark as it started. Soon the kitchen will be a real kitchen instead of various work benches. Viktor started working on the front porch and ramp. He also put tile trim up on one of the doors in the master bath and applied grout to the man cave shower and vanity.

Getting There

The flooring guys made their way all the way across the great room. A few spots to fill in and then they will move into the master bedroom.

Finish carpenters among other things got the office door and coat closet doors trimmed. They also got the window trimmed out in the master bath. They are getting very close to being done.

Granite remnants have been used to trim out the tile in the master bath. That with the accent tiles are a nice touch. There are only a few trim tiles around a door and Viktor will be done in the master bath.

Kitchen tile grouting is complete. Viktor was busy today. He also worked on the front ramp. Sheetrock repair and other various pick up work was completed by the guys from Five Star. We're getting there.

Ramped Up Again

Viktor is prepping the front porch and ramp getting it ready for flagstone. He also got grout on tile in the master bath, man cave bathroom shower and man cave counter top.

Flooring guys are making progress and are not quite half way across the great room. They did get the aisle way in the kitchen covered. It goes nicely with the alder cabinets, or at least we think so.

Herringbone

Flooring guys made good progress today. Dining room and office are covered. Hall way is mostly covered so most of the main living area should be covered tomorrow.

Viktor has the rest of the back splash up in the kitchen. He will be doing major grouting soon. The race is on. Painters are coming Monday.

Back At It

The flooring guys were back at it. There were more of them and floors go faster than stairs so they made a lot of progress.

Viktor finished the shower in the master bath. He also has all the floor covered so just some trim to go and he will be done with it (except for grout). He also got some of the back splash up in the kitchen. He was here late.

Accent

Finish carpenters got the rest of the crown molding up in the master bedroom today. They are getting their list shortened down.

Viktor got the rest of the tile placed in the shower. He still has some work to do on the shelf. Almost all the tile is on the floor so he's moving right along.

He also got accent tiles placed in the back splash over the cook top. Accent tiles change the look of the pattern and we like what we see. No flooring guys today.

Tavish Alert

The sheriff was out working his territory today. He found something he needed to clear out so he went digging. We're not sure what he was after but whatever it was, he wore the proof of his effort.

Of course he got cleaned up after his hard day so he is presentable and then went back to his office. He's five months old now and growing fast. About half way to his full size. He pretty much runs the show here now.

Steps To Completion

Flooring guys were here today. They finished these steps in the man cave a couple of days ago but I thought they were worth the picture.

Viktor continued work in the master bath today. Diagonal lay out is looking nice in the shower. There is also more tile on the floor and he placed accent tiles in the skirt around the tub.

He also got this part of the back splash behind the cook top put up today. The tile work is coming together and getting closer to completion. Finish carpenters also worked on trim in the laundry room and back entry area.

Spring Like

Flooring guys started laying out hardwood in the office and dining room areas. The three rows to the right were glued down today. That's the reason for the 'keep off' signs.

Viktor continued work on the master bath. We now have a real shower floor. He also has some of the tile down on the floor. Josh and a helper hauled all the plumbing fixtures, lights, appliances etc down to the pole building and got them out of the way. They also hauled several piles of garbage off so the front of the house looks much nicer. The spring like weather is refreshing and we are enjoying it.

Bath, Back And Landing

Flooring guys got the hardwood glued down to the stairway into the man cave. They cut everything to size first before they actually glue it down.

Viktor worked in the master bath today. He also started the back splash in the kitchen. He pretty much got enough done for this picture. It's coming along.

Moving Up

Flooring guys started covering the stairs down into the man cave. It takes a lot of time.

Viktor has moved up into the master bath. Tile is on the tub deck.

He also is getting the shower prepped for tile. Please note: The red tubes will be connected to the in floor heating and heat the shower seat which will be put in place. There are also additional tubes under the shower pan he poured. No finish carpenters today.

Flooring And Tokens

Our new garage doors now have garage door openers. Only thing missing now is the power to run the openers.

I'm not sure what the technical term is for flooring installers so I'll stick with flooring guys. They were here and started working on the stairway to the basement. They glue together the flooring and then cut the treads to length, then they will actually apply them to the steps.

Viktor got all the rocks placed on the shower floor in the basement shower. Now we can see how his urn and waterfall effect all goes together. He also put the same rock trim around the base on the outside of the shower. Very nice.

He has also used the same design for the back splash on the sink in the bathroom. We got two tokens from Ash Wednesday that just happen to be rocks. We asked him if they could be placed somewhere and he has one in the shower floor and one in this back splash. Just some grout to go and his work will be done in this room.

Last Of The OSB

Carpenters got posts wrapped on the back porch. They also got the last of the siding put on down next to the tile.

Ed and Dennis are getting the trim finished up in the dining room and great room. They are also doing crown molding in the master bedroom. They won't be back until Monday.

OSB was removed from the garage doors and the real doors were installed. They turned out very nice and they got the color correctly figured out. I think that's the last of the OSB that was being used to cover openings. Viktor got the glass blocks grouted and the last we saw of him, he was removing rock from the sheets so he can place them one at a time. He also separated them by color and thickness. The man has a plan.

A Touch Of Viktor

Finish carpenters worked on the crown molding in the master bedroom today. They also put in the post for the hand rail that will go up to the woman cave. Carpenters were also here putting up exterior molding and wrapping the posts on the screened porch.

Viktor got the glass blocks installed in the man cave bathroom. He also cut out for the sink in the kitchenette.

Now this is an artistic touch Viktor put in this shower. He cut part of the urn off and fastened it to the wall. The rocks, or pebbles, are actually sliced in half and then applied on top of the tiles. They match what's going to be on the floor of the shower. End result is it looks like water being poured out and flowing down to the floor. It was his idea and his design. Slicing rocks in half though was a bit more than we expected. It creates a very unique feature.

Floored On Tuesday

Finish carpenters continue their task to complete posts and trim. Ed trimmed out the kitchen window now that granite is in place.

Viktor is now working on the glass blocks for the downstairs shower. All the wall tile is up so it's taking shape nicely.

Flooring has been laid out in the master bedroom. It's acclimating and not quite installed yet. It's hickory and we like the look. Light issues in the kitchen were addressed today so those questions are answered.

We Have Granite!

Viktor continued work on the man cave bathroom shower. Ok, I know this is not granite but it's still work that went on today. The finish carpenters also got a post back in place and half posts on the walls in the dining room.

This is the laundry room. Granite is lighter colored in this room but bright laundry rooms are nicer...........so I'm told.

Pardon the dust and clutter on the counter tops. Elite Granite was still working when I took the pictures. Only thing missing from this cabinet now is the wine cooler........and a glass of wine of course.

The island took a full slab of granite all by itself. Interesting how they cut out all the openings and faucet holes after the granite is in place.

This is the vanity in the powder room that Diana had Newberg Steel put together for us. It turned out very nice with the granite and sink. We are getting closer.
