New Arrivals

We have had a week. We went to Gearhart and went clam digging. One day not so good, the next day there were limits for all who wanted them. Mark finished up the outside security lighting and Slavik finished up the low voltage work. It is very odd after a year to have no vehicles in our driveway that don't belong to us. Now our task is moving in. Furniture is due to arrive mostly next week. We should then have a place to sit down and sleep. We also have been shopping. We DID contribute to Bed Bath and Beyond's bottom line over the last couple of days. We have some new arrivals for the man cave. The pool table and shuffle board are now assembled and in place. Still no place to sit but these really had to go in first anyway. It's exciting to have things actually where they belong.

Still Punchin'

The punch list is still being worked on. Speakers were put in the living room and security cameras are going up. Standard color is black on the cameras. I think we made the right decision changing them to white. Windows are all washed which improves the view for sure. Shuffleboard is due in tomorrow but won't be set until next week, along with the pool table.

Punch

A host of people were have been here working through Josh's punch list. Electrician, paint touch up, door adjustments, etc. Low voltage should get completed tomorrow. As for us, we have been furniture shopping, and with some success. There will be a walk through in the morning to look over wall paint. A lot going on to put on the final touches.

Final........ly

F&C finished up their work Monday. All panels are now on the refrigerator. Cleaning is moving along. Josh's wife and her Mother and sister are doing that job. While they were working we found Josh 'working' down in the mechanical room. The County is done with inspections and yesterday we passed our final. The occupancy certificate is supposed to be in the mail. Woohoo.

Guess?

Sound system is being completed. Ceiling speakers are in the man cave.

F&C was here again yesterday. It appears they got all of the pulls and knobs installed. Actually, it looks like they got everything done they are supposed to do except one thing. Can you guess what that might be?

Glass And Pulls

Glass was installed in our railing system, except strangely for one pane. Other than that, the rails are finished.

F&C was here today installing drawer pulls and knobs. This is in the laundry room.

They also got most of the kitchen done. There are still all the bathrooms to go and the kitchenette in the man cave. Refrigerator panels also need to be put on.

Glass And Mirrors

F&C was here again today. They got the panel on the dishwasher as well as the drawer dishwasher in the man cave and the top panel on the refrigerator. The door panels for the refrigerator are still to be put on.

The glass company was here and put mirrors up in all the bathrooms. They seem larger once they are in place.
They also installed the glass shower enclosure. With the exception of some cabinet trim, the bathrooms are now complete. Paint crew of one was back filling in nail holes in the outside trim. Then they will re-paint those areas.

Getting Close

Viktor finished sealing the stone today. That should complete his work. F&C had a guy here working at finishing the cabinet trim. They still need to put appliance panels on too. We got handles for the refrigerator so they can be put on with the panels. They were ordered in McMinnville but Diana picked them up in Tigard or we would have waited on them until the end of the week. The electrical final was passed yesterday and the plumbing final was passed today. Railing glass is still due to be installed on Thursday and then they can be signed off. Josh says he's trying to get occupancy on Friday. There is still a lot of cleaning and finishing up to do which is scheduled for next week. If all of that happens as planned, we may be able to actually move in a week from this Saturday. So, we are getting very close.

Last Fan

Viktor returned on Saturday. He prepped and sealed all of the tile and stone on the upper floor. He also sealed the flagstone on the front porch and ramp. He will be here on Monday to seal tile and stone on the lower level, lower porch and loggia.

Mark was here on Sunday. This is the last fan Mark had to hang. It's the replacement fan for the master bedroom so he's been here before. He has everything ready for the electrical final inspection he scheduled for Monday. There's that word 'final' again. Woohoo!!!

Railing On

F & C was here today to put lower molding on the cabinets. They are coming back Monday to finish up.

Mark continues to put lights up. These are in the loggia. There are also can lights in the ceiling.

Railings are all in place. Now they order the glass to finish them up.

Mark's Favorite Things

Mark put the fan up in the screened porch today. He commented on how much he likes installing fans. Actually he said he never wanted to see another one. Hope he was kidding because there's still one to put up.

His other 'favorite' is lights just like this one in our entry. Something about all the pieces he gets to hang on them after they are up.

This is a closer picture of the same light. Tonight we went through the house and turned all the lights on just because we were having some fun. They all worked and the whole house was lit up. Yes I know I need to get a life but after a year of anticipation we are really getting close to completion and having a little fun with it is just how it is. Electrical final inspection is supposed to be the first of next week. We passed the final on the fire sprinkler system. It's nice to be using the word 'final'.

Electricians And Plumbers

Mark and Leonard were here again working on finishing up the electrical work. Bubble lights in the garage look better than bare tubes. The light in the study was also put up and many more can lights and fixtures were installed and heated up as they like to say.

The plumber was also here. He got the pot filler put on behind the cook top and completed the hook ups for the vanity in the powder room. There is also now a mirror hanging above the vanity but pictures of mirrors are tough.

Today was the first chance for us to actually see this waterfall faucet with water running out of it. A different look for the powder room and just what we were looking for. The rail guy was also here putting up posts and a change was made so Mark can hang the outside lights in the loggia. We have lights now in the whole house which makes it easier to check things out after dark.

Touches

I learned once again yesterday that if you are going to use a digital camera, it is imperative that the battery be charged. Carpeting was put down yesterday in the woman cave. This is the only room in the house that is carpeted.

JW was here finishing up his work. This timer turns the heat on and off in the master bedroom shower. Warm feet in the morning.

Dennis was here yesterday and he and Ed were both here today. Door hardware and trim strips were installed and they are also all but finished.

Rails started going up on the decks. They will all be wind block rails with glass. I'm told posts and rails are installed and then they are measured for glass.

Leonard was here and Mark a little later in the day putting up more lights and fans. This fan is in the Lou shrine, now called Anne's room, at least for a while. Four bladed fan in the master bedroom will be taken down and replaced with a new one. They can't get the one trim part that holds the fifth blade on so the whole fan is worthless. We will get another and then replace the one that's hanging.

Fans And Lights

Leonard was here Friday putting in outlets and switches. He and Mark were both here Saturday and Mark was here today working on light fixtures and fans. This fan is in the master bedroom. Yes it's supposed to have one more blade but an incorrect part was packed in the box. We will get that resolved Monday.

These lights are going up to the woman cave.

This one will light up the dining room table.

Outdoor lights also were put up. These are on the back porches and deck.

Carriage lights on the front of the garage and front porch complete the look of the front of the house. There are many more lights and fans to be put up but they are making good progress and it's nice to get to the completed look of all the rooms.
